Nordic Forum on Youth, Peace and Security
The UN Youth of Finland has initiated a Nordic collaboration on Youth, Peace and Security. We have joined forces with The UN Students of Norway and the National Council of Swedish Youth (LSU) to bring together Nordic 2250 actors. In other regions of the world, regional coalitions and networks already exist. This is something that has been missing in the Nordic region and where we want to plant the seeds for long-term, sustainable joint cooperation in our region. The purpose of the collaboration is to strengthen the capabilities of Nordic young peacebuilders, and support their work in national contexts, including the advocacy and implementation of 2250 National Action Plans.
To kickstart this collaboration, The UN Youth of Finland, The UN Students of Norway and the LSU organize the first Nordic Forum on Youth, Peace and Security in Helsinki, 22nd-24th September 2023. The purpose is to come together, determine the common issues and agendas, and form a sustainable network of Nordic 2250 actors.

The future of international politics -forum
The International Politics Forum, organized in Helsinki, brings together young activists, experts, politicians and organizations to discuss the future of international politics and the opportunities for young people to influence it. The program includes high-level panels, interesting working groups together with experts and stalwarts of international politics, as well as Chatham House discussions on pressing global challenges.
What? The forum of international politics
Where? In Helsinki, 8-9 September 2023
Why? Because international politics is in transition and young people should give their voice to the debate about international politics.

Ideathon
Come to solve the challenges of peacebuilding!
UN Youth of Finland organizes an ideathon from the 27th January to 28th January. Young people will come together to solve current issues of peacebuilding. Every group will get their own problem, which they will respond with their youthful solution.
The best solution will be rewarded with 1000 euro prize, and every group will get the chance to develop their ideas with experts from the field. The event is organized in collaboration with Save the Children Finland, Felm, The Finnish Christian Peace Association and the Timeout Dialogue Foundation.
Are you coming with us to solve the problems of peacebuilding? Read more information below and register now!
The event include a thematic online training on Tuesday 24th January at 5-7pm, where the participants get concrete tools and tips for creating their solution. We will go over the 2250 processes and the steps of planning the solution. Participation in the event doesn’t require previous experience on these topics – you only need creativity and interest towards peace-related issues.
The competition itself will start on Friday the 27th at 5pm in the Allianssi house in Helsinki. The participants meet their team and hear the problem they are solving. On Saturday the 28th they have the full day to work on their solutions with good company and some snacks! In the evening, the solutions are brought to the judges and the best ones will be rewarded in a gala on 4th February.
You can participate in the Allianssitalo in Helsinki or remotely, working with your group via Zoom. You are welcome with friends or alone – we will find to you a group, and the ideathon is a great place to meet new people interested in similar topics! The groups are divided according to their preferred themes. The competition is open to youth aged 15-29.
